Our Impact
Established in 2015, Emory University's Regional Emerging Special Pathogen Treatment Center (RESPTC) in HHS Region 4 serves as a leader for the National Emerging Special Pathogens Training and Education Center (NETEC). Region 4 has developed robust capabilities to manage patients diagnosed with high- consequence infectious diseases.
They have proven their preparedness to respond to needs both regionally and globally in support of the ASPR funding opportunities. The RESPTC is uniquely equipped to continue serving the community due to being the first biocontainment unit in the U.S. and its extensive experience with Ebola care and other high-consequence infectious diseases.
THE VALUE
Emory's RESPTC operates 24/7, ensuring rapid response and care for patients across the region, playing a crucial role in safeguarding the nation against potential bioterror agents and emerging infectious diseases.
